The basis for this post today is the following graphic comparing Alexandre Lacazette to the Premier League average for Forwards.
Some of the obvious things that jump out at this is that Lacazette is good to very good at a number of things, but he really lacks in one major area and those are the statistics around Goal scoring. This is matched with his "Stats Dashboard" where he looks strong in basically every category except for shooting.
This isn't really a new issue either.
He really has never been a prolific accumulator of goal-scoring opportunities, he has mostly spent his Arsenal career bouncing between the 25th and 75th percentiles for open play expected goals, with the start of this season being an outlier for how bad things have looked.
So this brings us to (but doesn't beg) the question of where does all of this rank compared to his peers in the Premier League?
